While Captain Clutch Derek Jeter, as many would say, nearly perfected baseball and won over his fans, there is one thing he could not master. It is the hobby he took up after bidding farewell to Major League Baseball in 2014, i.e., golf. It’s been over eight years since then, but the baseball great feels that he still has to learn quite a lot in golf. However, he has perfected himself at golf enough to beat the ex-POTUS Barack Obama. 

Most recently, 5x World Series winner Jeter entered into a golf championship with Olympic champ Michael Phelps. Not only the tournament didn’t go as it should have, but it also left the Hall of Famer embarrassed. Meanwhile, as it happened, Jeter’s embarrassment led the New York Yankees fans to beg him to return to the Bronx. 

How did Derek Jeter get embarrassed?

While the New York Yankees are one of the biggest and most potent teams in the league, they have remained out of luck for a few years now. The last World Series they won was also Jeter’s last in 2009. Since then, whether it is offense or, this time, an infield mess, the Yanks have become the target of brutal criticism. Hence, the fanbase is now in desperate need of Captain Clutch to be back and do his magic.

Jeter, alongside Phelps, former pro golfer Andy North and yet another pro golfer Zach J. Johnson, recently competed in American Family Insurance Championship, aka Celebrity Foursome. As the event concluded, Jeter put up a picture of the foursome on his Instagram account with the caption, “Had a great time embarrassing myself at @amfamchampionship!” 

Competing against pro golfers in their game is as easy as asking them to beat Derek Jeter in baseball. Even so, Captain Clutch, despite getting embarrassed, had a great time and enjoyed himself. However, it led to the desperate Yankees fans asking for his comeback in any form he find suitable.

Having played 68 games till now, the Yanks have won only 39 of them. With multiple injuries holding them back, the team is lacking in multiple areas. One of them is with fielding. To top it all off, Yankees slugger Gleyber Torres recently made a huge blunder in the infield by fumbling a routine grounder, making him the target of brutal mockery. 

Therefore, when the fans found out about Derek Jeter being active on social media, they could not hold back their emotions. 

Hence, they wrote on his “embarrassment” post, “Please get to Citi Field asap”, “We need you back cap. Help us :(.”, “Derek we need you out there right now”, and “you need to be holding a bat for the Yanks. We miss you!” 

Despite Torres’ huge blunder on the field, the Yanks somehow held their own and took the team to victory.
