Following the 2015 AL MVP’s exit from the New York Yankees, the Bronx has experienced a whiff of fresh talent. The three-time All-Star, Josh Donaldson’s terribly short tenure paved the way for young talents to hop on board with the Yankees. While some see the tables turn in favor of the Bronx Bombers, some continue to believe that the curse lingers on, this time due to a shocking front office decision.

Referring to Donaldsons’ association with the Yankees as a curse, is not baseless. The 37-year old played only in 34 out of New York’s 131 games. His last game with the Yankees was on 15th July just before getting placed on the injured list for a substantial period of time. Let’s be honest, a prolonged absence has never turned out well.

The Yankees promoted some fine young prodigies concurrently, among whom was Jasson Domniguez. This 20 year old alien was quick to earn the moniker of ‘The Martian’. The management’s attempt for course correction, signing Jasson comes with some skepticism amidst a jinxed locker situation. And yes, it is because Donandson owned the ‘ominous’ locker before him.

Since this front office decision, the fans’ demands ranged from bathing that locker in holy water to performing exorcism on it to cleanse it off Josh’s marks.

Concerned fans see this as an ‘added pressure’ for the 20 year old Martian. Only time will tell how true this turns out to be.

While there were a select few who could not bother less about this arrangement.

Jinxed or not, the locker’s influence might not be larger than that of The Martian’s. The progress Yankees have made recently boasting some of the most powerful talents, reflects optimism.
