It was supposed to be a wild night. After two wins, the New York Yankees and Bronx fans were hoping for a complete sweep of the Baltimore Orioles. The visiting team prevented that, winning 6-3 against the Bronx Bombers. But Yankee Stadium still saw a good game until the fifth inning rolled around.
One of the O’s stars, Gunnar Henderson, made an errant move that injured a cameraman. It was a scary situation that stopped the game for over 10 minutes. Every player on both sides of the game seemed concerned as they returned to their dugouts. Having gone through various on-field moments since MLB debut in August 2022, Henderson will probably remember this moment forever.

Baseball fans have often witnessed player injuries, which are difficult to watch. However, it’s even more challenging when a ball hurts a fan or a crew member. In the latest game of Yankees vs. Orioles, the cameraman, Pete Stendel was recording the game as usual in the camera well, when, in the fifth inning, a ball hit him.

Gunnar Henderson was trying to throw the ball to first baseman Ryan O’Hearn to get the Yankees’ Anthony Volpe out. But in his hurry, the ball flew too high over O’Hearn’s head and went straight into the camera well, hitting Stendel. Medical professionals immediately attended to him, and 17 minutes later, he was carried out in an ambulance.
He seemed to be doing okay since he threw up a peace sign while rolled out of the field. The crowds cheered for him while chanting,?“M-V-P!”?Later, everyone sent him wishes for a speedy recovery.
