Barry Bonds is one of the most familiar names for any passionate baseball follower. His heroic feats on the baseball diamond and infamous imagery, both go hand in hand. But despite his scandals, Bonds’ playing talent was undeniable. While he was still active as a player, he also portrayed his range of talent as an actor.

Not many people know, but Bonds once appeared on an episode of the world-famous television series, Beverly Hills 90210. He made a cameo in that particular episode, where he played golf. The show aired on Fox TV and ran for 10 seasons. Notably, the content of the series dealt with numerous socio-cultural issues.

When Barry Bonds exhibited his skills on another platform

Barry Bonds established a reputation as a ‘Home Run King’ on the baseball diamond. Back in 1994, he came into public notice as an actor in Beverly Hills 90210. He made his cameo appearance in the episode titled, ‘Cuffs and Links‘. It was the 24th episode in the fourth season of the series.

Bonds enacted a character who participated in a friendly game of father/son golf. He played against the father of Steve Sanders, a leading character in the show. Matters took a serious turn in the plot, as Steve caught his father cheating and awarded a win to Bonds. Interestingly, the name of Bonds’ character in the show was Barry Larson.

As for his baseball career, Bonds built a Hall Of Fame-worthy legacy in the ballpark. Remarkably, he once set the MLB seasonal home run record by smashing 73 homers in 2001. Nonetheless, he fell into disgrace after admitting to having taken steroids as a player. Bonds got indicted by a federal grand jury in 2007 and he lost favor for Cooperstown honors.

Will Bonds ever receive a Hall Of Fame induction? 

Bonds has fallen short of the number of votes as per the 75% criteria required to get elected. The debate over his induction credibility is still raging on in MLB panels. Irrespective of everything, he has still proven his mettle as a player and even as an actor to some extent.
