“He’s the Great One”: $200 Million Worth Derek Jeter Speaks Volumes of NHL Legend-Turned-Business Partner Wayne Gretzky

Back in 2022, Derek Jeter chose to take the Michael Jordan route and joined hands with NHL legend Wayne Gretzky to build a brand-new clothing line. And naturally, when legends of the stature of Jeter and Gretzky collided, there was bound to greatness.

To launch the new brand ‘Greatness Wins’, Jeter shook hands with the NHL Hall of Famer and UNTUKit founder, Chris Riccobono. Naturally, much like Jeter’s other encounters in the world of business, this was always bound to be a success, too. However, the five-time Yankee The Great One?

Derek Jeter is full of praise for Wayne Gretzky

Greatness Wins recently shared a video where Jeter was asked a possibly stumping question: “What does Derek find great about Wayne?” However, it took the Yankees superstar no time to come up with an extremely candid and honest response, which was, surprisingly or not, filled with praises for the $200 million worth NHL veteran.

Jeter said, “Wayne, I mean, he’s the great one. That’s all you really have to say. But when you talk about it from an athletic standpoint, it doesn’t get better than Wayne when you talk about consistency.”

The 14-time All-Star, worth $220 million, continued to add, “Year in and year out. The thing that I admire about him is the fact that he was setting the standard for everyone else. So he’s just chasing himself. And he went out and set the bar high for everyone in any sport that’s played.”
