Bryce Harper happens to be one of the most aggressive players on the field. The pomp and circumstance that follows his play is second to none. The NLCS is witnessing the immense class of this great player. So it is not surprising that he always seems eager to share the spotlight with his teammates. Especially now as the Phillies lead the NLCS 3-2 after a thumping victory in Game 5.
After their win in Game 5, the Phillies were in a mood for a party. So were the fans, as the chants of Phillies echoed across the Chase Field in Phoenix. Afterwards during an interview, Bryce Harper was full of praise for his Teammate and long-time friend – Bryson Stott.

As Game 5 continued, the Phillies grew stronger with each passing second. It was a performance that not only had great batting but also exceptional fielding displays. At the forefront of those defensive duties was the 2nd Baseman Bryson Stott. After his impressive performance, “The Showman” Bryce Harper had some words for Stott.
“He’s the best second baseman in the league.” Harper declared proudly in a postgame interview with MLB network.

“I’ll put him up against anybody. I don’t care who you are, you’re not better than Bryson Stott.” He finished.
The words of Harper do hold a weight when you look at Bryson Stott’s performance in 2023 till now. Only in his 2nd year, Stott is nominated for the Gold Glove. His stats are equally impressive as he stands first in total chances (602), and has the fewest errors (5). Apart from this, he has made 362 assists.
Above all Bryson’s performance in Game 5 was immense. The match which saw Zack Wheeler’s masterclass in pitching also got to witness Bryson’s stunning dive during the 7th inning. With Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto hitting home runs, the Phillies were at their finest.

NLCS at its final stage
When the Phillies won the first two games it seemed that the series was in for a blowout. Then as the Diamondbacks woke up, NLCS became everything that it was meant to be. The Diamondbacks gave multiple blows to the Phillies as they leveled up the series.
