Superstar meetups haven’t been a norm in MLB like NBA sports. However, this didn’t stop Juan Soto from envisioning such a scenario. Sharing his thoughts on Dodgers rumors, Soto was eager to share a clubhouse with Shohei Ohtani. Indeed, after the 2024 MLB season, Juan will become a free agent. Therefore, with a free hand to go into any team and Soto’s agent Scott Boras’s bare-minimum $500 contract, the Yankees fans felt worried.
However, Soto’s recent banter with Judge and the All-Star win with the Yankees have given some hope to the Bronx fanbase. On Tuesday, both Aaron Judge and Juan Soto played the center and right field. Winning the game by 5-3, Soto scored a two-run double, and Judge went 0-2 on his two groundouts. Luckily, aside from the win, Soto’s interaction with his teammates was a major highlight for the fans.

For the first season with the Yankees at the All-Star Game, Juan Soto mic’d up on the ground, sharing hilarious instances. The first clip shared by the Bronx Bombers showed Soto with the Yankees captain Aaron Judge gleefully sitting and smiling. Also, on the ground, Soto was captured joking with the AL stars in the pre-game training. The Yankees right-fielder also had a flare of jokes with the All-Star Clay Holmes on facing Paul Skenes.

While Holmes asked whether Soto was ready for the Skenes furious 100-mph fastball, Juan casually said, “he was all over.” Later, Soto clarified that he hoped not to miss that ball whenever the time came. Additionally, Juan Soto went a notch ahead to showcase his love for his fellow Yankees as he shared special moments with Judge, Bobby Witt Jr. and Stevan Kwan.
Also, Soto had high praises for pitchers like Tarik Skubal and even insisted that Aaron Judge would not have to make any plays. Reason? The AL pitchers might record all the strikeouts. Eventually, like Soto is, he was casually enjoying with his All-Star mates. Though it’s not the first time, the Bronx hitter still had much fun. On the other hand, seeing Juan Soto happy with Yankees teammates ignited a fire of hope amongst the fans on social media.

Fans are garnering their love for Juan Soto and co on social media
While the Yankees are going through a rough patch of their season, moments like these are special for the fans. Expressing his love for the legendary duo, one fan wrote, “Never break this duo up.” In the offense department, Judge and Soto still have impressive numbers. Combined, they have smashed 57 homers and have an OPS of well above .900. Also, with Judge having a staggering RBI of 85, he sits on top of the leaderboard, while Juan Soto sits in the eighth position with an RBI of 66 and an exceptional .295 batting average.
Backing the sentiment, another fan came pouring his love: “Give him – 15 years $1 billion dollars.” Indeed, the Yankees signed two of the biggest superstars for high pay. Aaron Judge signed a whopping $360 million contract for nine years with the Yankees. On the other hand, Juan Soto signed a one-year contract with the Bronx for $31 million. Although these comments are hypothetical, their statement might depict the importance of Juan and Aaron in the team.

Also, requesting the Yankees to keep Soto on the team, another user said, “Please keep him in NY.” After the current season, Juan Soto will become a free agent. However, what’s concerning is Scott Boras’s value set for Juan Soto. There have been plenty of instances when Boras has told Soto’s value to be above $500 million. If Soto becomes a free agent, Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner might have to spend hard to get him back.

“Big second half, love this team,” one commenter noted about the Yankees’ future performances. Of course, the last few months have been rough for the Pinstripes. Losing a series against the Red Sox and humiliated by the Bay Rays, the Yankees will look to revert their performance. However, the recent Orioles series win might have given them some confidence. Reflecting on Soto’s personality, another enthusiast said, “Who knew Juan was so funny.” Juan Soto always had that reputation of a hard-hitter. However, very few know he’s a joyful person off the field.
Luckily, with the All-Star game win, Soto showed the Yankees his gleeful side by playing and joking around his teammates. And a joyful Juan Soto might be useful for the Yankees, who played a better first half. In that period, they earned three All-Stars, and ultimately, Juan delivered on the big stage. So, the Bronx must keep this momentum as they move towards a slighter, tougher second leg of the 2024 MLB season.
