Fathers are one of the greatest heroes to their children. This is a common tradition, and Alex Rodriguez is not an exception. However, the only twist lies in the fact that it was not because he was their father or his achievements in baseball. The story is completely different.

The 2009 World Series Champion is a hero to many of his fans, but ironically, his daughters never consider him a hero for it. This opportunity came to his life much later when he started dating Jennifer Lopez. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel a few years back, A-Rod shared his shift to a hero from a father to his daughters.

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez formed an incredible couple. This couple not only used to spend time together, they even spent time with each other’s family. In the midst of JLo and A-Rod’s relationship, Alex Rodriguez spoke with Jimmy Kimmel on the topic of dating Jennifer Lopez.

The interview started with casual chatting about Alex’s opinion about the Hall of Fame selection and later moved on to his ex-girlfriend. Jimmy asked the MLB legend about his friends’ reactions after hearing him dating JLo. In reply, Rodriguez said it was his daughters who were the most excited ones.

He said his daughters even escalated his position to a hero’s, “Honestly, my daughters. My daughters think their dad is a hero now, for the first time. No, you know, it’s amazing, they think they went to heaven.” Again he continued emphasizing the relationship of his daughters to The Hustler actress, “And, now they’re hanging out with Jennifer backstage, they’re dancing, they’re singing with her. We usually call at least once a day on Facetime. Now they call me 3,4,5 times.”

Besides being a star player, or a passionate lover, A-Rod is a responsible father to his two daughters- Natasha and Ella. Both his daughters are close to him, and they often share moments of hanging out together or spending family time. However, the 14x All-Star, with a proud smile, claimed that his daughters used to admire JLo so much that they only called him to meet his girlfriend. If she was not around, they cut the call, completely ignoring him.

One of A-Rod’s daughters, Natasha, is 18, and another one, Ella, is 15. Over these years, he shared his children with his former wife Cynthia Scurtis. Despite having multiple romantic relationships, Rodriguez’s ex-wife praised him as an excellent father who prioritized his daughters above all else.

Fatherhood is a challenging journey. People often fail in the test of being a good father. However, A-Rod has successfully passed this test and has become an excellent father to Natasha and Ella. After his divorce from his ex-wife, they used to share their children. Over these years, the MLB legend has gone through several turbulent situations in his personal and professional life, but according to his ex-wife and other sources, he never neglected his daughters.

He put them before everything else. They spend family time together, and once A-Rod jokingly said his daughters sometimes try to throw him out of the kitchen. They even sometimes posted videos of doing TikTok challenges.

Recently, his daughter Natasha left for higher studies, making her father proud and emotional at the same time. She has been admitted to the University of Michigan. The proud father, before dropping the daughter, expressed his mixed emotions, saying, “I can’t believe it. I’m gonna drop her off in a few weeks in Ann Arbor, and I’m both incredibly proud of Natasha but also incredibly sad that my first baby is leaving us….” He further continued, expressing how Ella was trying to accept the situation that her elder sister would leave home.
