Generally, the World Series wraps up in October itself. But the 9/11 events led to a one-week delay in the World Series games.
Per Nicki Swift, the New York Yankees were playing against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series in the 2001 season. During Game 4, the Yankees and Diamondbacks were tied up in the 10th inning.

Known for his clutch hitting, Derek Jeter belted a monstrous home run to win the game. But something interesting happened with that home run. Game 4 started on the late night of October 31, but when Jeter hit the home run, the calendar had already changed. He hit the game-winning home run in the early hours of November 1st.

After this memorable night, fans named him Mr. November. However, despite the efforts from the Jeter-led team, the Pinstripes failed to triumph over the Diamondbacks in the World Series. The Diamondbacks won the coveted title by defeating the Yanks in the series finale.
