Baseball fans, known for their passionate love for their players, sometimes take things too far. While there is no harm done, there has been a profound display of intense emotions toward Joey Votto after he shared a handwritten letter highlighting “Some reflections..”

The Cincinnati Red took to X to share and confess something about how a six-year-old incident feels to him now that he’s a member of his hometown team. Penned in cursive, his note read, “Hello! I wanted to write a note” and went on for three pages.
It was a reference to when, in 2018, he said he had little connection to Canada following James Paxton’s no-hitter against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre for the Seattle Mariners.
One of the main reasons for him to apologize was that his mother, after hearing his words, reprimanded him. As per Votto, “She let me know this is not how you were raised and that I should check my ego and perspective.” With that, he sought forgiveness. Wondering what he had said?
joey, i am genuinely offering you my hand in marriage. you are the most fascinating baseball player to ever do it and i cannot emphasize enough how much of an icon and genius you are

Well, his words were, “I don’t care almost at all about Canadian baseball. I wasn’t raised inside of Canadian baseball really” and more. But the fact that he acknowledged and apologized to fans and Paxton days after his opinion on a 2018 podcast seemed to have touched hearts.
To this, a fan responded with her proposal. ‘Baseball Barbie’ said, “joey, i am genuinely offering you my hand in marriage. you are the most fascinating baseball player to ever do it and i cannot emphasize enough how much of an icon and genius you are”. With that comes another interesting bit to this story.
