In a recent post-game interview he expressed about Stanton, “He looks like Big G”. He further added, “I know he’s been battling injuries the past couple seasons, but I think he’s finally feeling healthy and feeling like himself.” These words highlight Judge’s genuine excitement for Stanton’s return to form. While there is excitement, there is also true appreciation for how the 34-year-old slugger has overcome his injuries. 

Giancarlo Stanton Turning Things Around

Stanton’s journey back has not been easy. And Judge rightly acknowledges, “He’s been battling injuries the past couple of seasons.” These injuries significantly limited Stanton’s playing time and undoubtedly impacted his performance.

But according to Judge, Stanton’s dedication during the offseason is a stark proof to his character. “For him to put in the work this offseason, coming in in shape the way he wanted to, that speaks volumes to the type of person he is and the type of competitor he is,” Judge said.  He admires Stanton’s commitment to getting back on the field at his best. Rightly so, his commitment is paying off. 

As the New York Yankees beat the Chicago White Sox 4-2 on Friday night for their fifth straight victory, Stanton’s performance stood out. His homerun along with Judge’s stole the show. That said, it’s not only hitting home runs, but also contributing RBIs that have propelled the Yankees to a five-game winning streak. Judge himself acknowledged this, saying, “To see him do it [get healthy], it’s been great.”
