Is Jose Quintana a new ‘Brewers killer’? Finally, the New York Mets lost an opportunity to get Quintana back, and with such a vast experience against the Milwaukee Brewers across the National League Central, he has pitched for the Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and even the Pirates. Now, Quintana gets signed by the Brewers for a one-year, $4.25 million deal, but that’s not all!

The Brewers seem to have gone through a hard time during this signing; however, the deal is pending a physical as of now. Although the club hasn’t made an official statement, Jose Quintana’s addition could allow the Brewers to include another veteran in the rotation mix. So, why is it a tough and unmemorable experience for the Brewers, which turned out to be the driving force behind the deal?

Well, the Brewers have had talks with Joe Quintana for quite a long time and more importantly, it was all Quintana, who used to perform massively against the Brewers when playing for the Chicago Cubs In 23 regular season games, Quintana had a 2.98 ERA against them, and he was great against the Milwaukee Brewers, for which, on March 4, during a discussion with Robert Murray, Adam Weinrib Said, “Quintana, when he was with the Chicago Cubs, the Cubs will have Quintana lined up to face the Brewers because he owned them that much. And it was the same way when he was at the Pirates, like you could do well against the Brewers there.”

Adam Weinrib also mentioned that last year, when the New York Mets faced the Brewers, that too during a knockout game, Quintana managed to pitch six innings, which fetched him shoutouts, proving his worth as an effective veteran pitcher. So, now with his addition to the Brewers, Quintana will not only offer depth to the rotation but can also effectively lead the team. Now with Freddy Peralta on the opening day roster and Jacob Mizorowski making his debut for the Brewers, they could have the veteran pitcher play alongside them, which in turn would offer them the relevant experience and skills needed to make the team successful.

So, what does Jose Quintana have to offer the Brewers?

Quintana’s signing by the Brewers—a boon or a bane?

Jose Quintana’s addition to the Milwaukee Brewers’ roster aligns perfectly with the team’s need for quality pitching development. With Quintana stepping up as the fifth starter, his presence would not only add depth to the pitching rotation but would also increase the chances of an epic showdown when facing the Chicago Cubs in the upcoming season. He had an impressive 2024 season across 31 games, where he had a 3.75 ERA, 1.250 WHIP, 63 walks, 22 home runs, and 135 strikeouts. But that doesn’t end here!
