Back in 2018, after spending the first five years of his MLB career with the Miami Marlins, left fielder Christian Yelich was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers. In hindsight, the Marlins would have nothing but regret after that trade. Yelich completed the 2018 season with 36 homers and 110 runs batted in at 0.326, almost won the Triple Crown, and eventually received the NL Hank Aaron Award before being named the National League MVP in 2018. Naturally, Yelich left the season at an all-time high and spent the next few nights partying. However, his party wasn’t as star-studded as the rager Giancarlo Stanton had when he won the MVP award with the Marlins in 2017.
Notably, Stanton and Yelich were teammates with the Miami Marlins for five seasons. In 2017, Stanton smashed 59 home runs and was named the NL MVP. Naturally, even Stanton partied for long nights, but his party witnessed a sensational rapper worth $150 million, Snoop Dog. And Yelich was quite salty about it. Here’s what he said about that night:

Snoop Dogg picked Stanton’s MVP party over his teammate Christian Yelich’s party in 2018
On a podcast called ‘Foul Territory Show‘, Christian Yelich revealed that he partied hard after winning the MVP award in 2018, but couldn’t go anywhere close to Stanton’s party from 2017 with Snoop Dogg in it.

On the podcast, Yelich first spoke about the grand party he had for “three or four days.” Yelich narrated, “I mean, I went on a pretty good bender after that. I’m not going to lie. It was like 3 or 4 days of just. We went out like every night with me and my buddies from back home and I remember like the last night of that. I was like I need to chill. Like I can’t do this another night. I’m not going to make it.”

Yelich then moved to talk about Stanton’s MVP party from 2017, where Snoop Dogg clicked a picture with the present-day star Yankees parents. He said, “You have good moments and you have good things. You need to enjoy them. I went to Gs’s the year before. He had, I think, Snoop Dogg at his. He must have been busy because he didn’t attend mine, but he had Snoop out there with his parents and everybody in the club, at a club in Hollywood. It was a pretty good time, man. I enjoyed it. We had a lot of fun.”
When did Giancarlo Stanton move to New York?
Despite a 59-homer season, the Marlins went against their better judgment and traded Stanton to the Yankees in 2018 in exchange for cash considerations and minor leaguers, Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers. This trade made Stanton, a five-time All-Star, only the second player to be traded after a 50-homer season.
