The Dominican Republic-born outfielder from San Diego Padres, Fernando Tatis Jr. made his MLB debut in 2019. Since then, his success in the ballpark has made him a prominent personality in the world of baseball. Analogous to that, he’s been the center of attention lately, but not for the reasons he would’ve wanted.

Despite his successful record, Fernando Tatis Jr. has landed on the wrong side of things after testing positive for Clostebol, a banned substance in MLB. Following that, he received an 80-game suspension that will cover the remainder of 2022 and a few games into 2023 as well. Baseball Columnist for New York Post Sports, Jon Heyman, talked about Bebo’s 80-day suspension and his views on the excuse Bebo made to cover up for his PED bust.

What Did Jon Heyman Have to Say About Fernando Tatis Jr.?

Admitting to the consumption of PEDs, Bebo said, “I have no excuse for my error, and I would never do anything to cheat or disrespect this game I love.” However, his excuse that followed this remorse seemed “very far-fetched,”?according to the columnist, Jon Heyman. Bebo said, “It turns out that I inadvertently took a medication to treat ringworm that contained Clostebol. I should have used the resources available to me in order to ensure that no banned substances were in what I took. I failed to do so.”

Sharing the thoughts of multiple people, Jon Heyman said, “So he came up with an excuse, very far-fetched, and it doesn’t appear that anybody bought it. So, whoever came up with it didn’t do a good job. Nobody believes that he mixed up medication for ringworm for anabolic steroids.”

Moreover, Bebo sustained a careless wrist injury after meeting with a bike accident. When asked about the accident, Bebo said, “Which one?”?while hinting at the possibility of multiple such accidents. To this, Heyman said, “They (San Diego Padres) really need to keep an eye on him because he really has some maturity issues at this point.

All in all, Bebo’s carelessness and attitude can affect his potentially successful career in the longer run. To summarize the entire scandal, Heyman said, “He messed up. I?m really not sure why he did it!”
