In 47 years of his existence on the earth, Alex Rodriguez has made a big name for himself, both in baseball and the business world. Growing up, the man had dreamt of only two things, to play professional baseball and to become a successful businessman. He entered the baseball world at the age of 18 and hasn’t looked back ever since. A-Rod also gained multiple mentors throughout this time. One such mentor was the business mogul and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet.

Having one of the most successful investors in the world as a mentor is an achievement in itself. Moreover, it’s very rare for a personality like Buffet to not only teach someone but also invest in their venture.
But that is something the ‘Oracle of Omaha’ did for the former baseball player, during the time he played for the Texas Rangers. Not only did Buffet mentor the Yankees’ third baseman on investment and business opportunities, but in actuality, he placed a bet on him and won.
What did Warren Buffet say about Alex Rodriguez?
Insurance companies owned by the billionaire bought disability insurance for Alex Rodriguez. The permanent disability policy was about $260 million. Because the policy price was so high, no one would be able to write it, and fortunately for Buffet, he didn’t have to pay anything.
“Alex may give me some credit—but he doesn’t need me,” said Warren Buffett. “He’s got a money mind. He just gets things, if they’re business- or money-related.”
Alex has, for sure, made some mistakes in his life. But, there are also many good things that he has done. The man helps athletes in whatever way he can so that they can lead a good life even after retiring from the game they used to play.
