Most MLB players would love the chance to suit up for the New York Yankees at least once during their career. Notably, the Yankees are a storied franchise and they have produced some of the greatest ever to play the game over a century of their dominance in the sport. And given this dominance in baseball, almost every aspiring baseballer wishes to don the Pinstripes once in their lifetime.

The Yankees centerfielder Harrison Bader was one of those. He was born and raised in Bronxville, New York. Bader considers it an honor to represent the Bronx and play for such a storied team. Most recently, he opened up about staying with the Yankees on a long-term deal as he approaches free agency.

Harrison Bader wants to sign a contract extension with the New York Yankees

Harrison Bader is a promising outfielder for the New York Yankees, with a lot of defensive upsides. The Yankees traded for him midway through the 2022 season. Bader was recovering from injury and struggled in his 14 games with the Yankees, but came alive in the postseason. Most recently, the outfielder opened up on his free agency while talking to New York Post’s Jon Heyman. Bader stated that he would be open to staying with the Yankees long-term.

According to New York Post’s Jon Heyman, Bader said, “Being born and raised in New York, it’s always been one of my goals to play in a Yankee uniform. Now that I crossed off playing in a Yankees uniform, of course I want to be a Yankee as long as I can be. But I realize, especially being traded last year, that it’s not really up to me. The only thing I can do is go out there and be the best version of myself for this team and every other team.” He further said that he’d love to continue playing in pinstripes, but that it may not be up to him.
