Derek Jeter is probably in the best of spirits now. After years, the New York Yankees seem to be in a position to finally bag the ring this season. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto seem to be a formidable team, with most comparing them to Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, as they are carrying the team forward. And not to forget that at the recent game when Judge failed to come through, the rest of the bullpen ensured a win. So definitely a strong team!
Captain Clutch helped the New York Yankees win five championships. It’s been ten years since he retired from Major League Baseball, yet his name is still revered to this day. But he has very much been in the scene as an analyst, businessman and even doing notable baseball events. This time one could sense his excitement for October as he taught his children his art—baseball!

Derek Jeter’s life has always revolved around baseball—it’s in his DNA. So it’s not like one can take baseball away from him. He can be a businessman, a team owner, or anything, but the end always is with a bat and a ball. His wife, Hannah, recently shared a perfect example of this on Instagram. It perfectly sums up the fact that baseball is still very much a part of their lives.

In the video, Derek Jeter was seen teaching his children what a ‘hit’ means in baseball lingo. He set up a practice drill, showing them the technique behind a perfect swing. But he failed to hit! Well, it’s tough. Hannah playfully narrates in the background, “This is for everyone who thinks that he’s been retired from baseball for 10 years. Here he goes, he’s back at it again.” While Jeter is busy swinging, he can be heard saying in the background, “Swing. Swing. And swing. Harder than it looks.”
Derek Jeter has four children, Bella Raine, Story Grey, River Rose, and Kaius Green. And most of the time, the former Yankees star spends time with his family. So he was probably teaching one or more of them his skills.
Captain Clutch also posted the video on his socials saying, “Ready for October baseball.” Well, when one plays for as long as Jeter did, it’s tough to move on and not fall back into the comfort of the game. And this post went viral and all his fans came through with an out-pour of love and affection for him.
Derek Jeter fans want him back on the diamond
A Derek Jeter fan said, “This man is not only a Hall of Fame player, he’s a Hall of Fame Father!! Thataboy Cap!!!” And he isn’t wrong, Derek Jeter is not just an awesome baseball star, he is also a great father. He recently revealed that he was enjoying the summer with his family. Another commenter in awe said, “What a great Dad he’s a class act! So lucky he gets to enjoy his little ones.” Well, Derek Jeter is a 5X world champion, and he took retirement to spend more time with his family. And he is doing exactly that. Four children and a beautiful and supportive wife—what else does a man need? Well, baseball for Jeter for sure!
A tensed New York Yankee fan mentioned, “We could use your help, Cap! #28.” Well, the New York Yankees are having postseason jitters because Aaron Judge their star, choked during the game. He anyway doesn’t have great numbers after the regular season, and seems like he is continuing that tradition this time too. If Jeter were in the team, in his form, things surely would be different.
A fan wasn’t shy to remind everyone that Jeter is the legend, “The goat!!!! And everyone knows @derekjeter gets hot in November!!!!!!! I would still take him over anyone out there now!” And well, Jeter is literally called Mr November because he shines through in pressure situations. And he made the New York Yankees win five championships, which is a testament to it.

Another fan couldn’t resist commenting, “I guess you’re missing the game, Derek.” That sentiment rings true—after all, one can take the baseball player out of the stadium but you can’t take baseball out of the player! But well, recently at the old-timers event, Jeter had said that he is too afraid he would hurt himself. So it might not be a possibility to see him hit professionally!
The Yankee fans can be rest assured that as long as Derek Jeter is around, baseball will always be a part of his story—just like the legend himself. Do you too want Captain Clutch to pick up the bats again, maybe for a small game?
