The New York Yankees are presently participating in the American League Championship Series. Their magnificent campaign in the regular season gave them safe passage to the playoffs. After winning a thrilling postseason series, they are now competing for the league division crown. Recently, the Yankees got trending online, but rather for a weird reason. 

The Yankees qualified for the postseason as the zonal champion. Amidst inconsistencies, the Yankees managed to maintain the top spot in the American League East. Consequently, they played a postseason series against the wildcard entries, the Cleveland Guardians. Defeating the Guardians on a 3-2 margin in the five-game series, the Yankees stepped into the ALCS round. 

The Yankees are competing against the Houston Astros to represent the American League in the World Series. While the Astros have presented a stiff challenge in the ballpark, their fans have fuel to the fire. A famous steakhouse in Houston has gotten into the act amidst extending support to the Astros. The restaurant has done so by trolling the Yankees in an utmost degrading manner. 

A savage dig at the New York Yankees 

The Yankees were staying in Texas to face off against the Astros, at Minute Maid Park. The Yankees team logo, however, found a new home in a rather unwanted place. ‘Taste of Texas’, a highly popular steakhouse in Houston, has placed the Yankees logo in their urinals. The images have thus gone viral across social media and sparked a fiery debate amongst fans of both teams. 

The MLB insider, Michael Schwab, posted the news on his Twitter account quoting, “Houston steakhouse Taste of Texas has the Yankee logo in the urinals.” 

A Yankees fan lashed out at the move and defended his team writing, “No class. Disgusting to see, act like you’ve been here before.” 

Whereas, another Yankees fan chipped in to write: “Guess I’m p*ssing all over their floor. Oops.”

The Astros have won the first two ALCS games against the Yankees at Minute Maid Park. Thus, the Astros are leading the five-game series by a 2-0 margin while the Yankees face potential elimination. Both teams will now proceed to play at Yankee Stadium. Therefore, the Yankees will look to turn the series around in front of the home crowd.
