What is the most unfortunate and unlucky way in which you’ve hurt yourself? After yesterday, Zach Plesac has two such incidents to his -name. The 27-year-old pitcher made his MLB Debut in 2019 for the Cleveland Guardians. Markedly, his uncle, Dan Plesac, had a 17-year-long MLB career during which he appeared on 3 All-Star teams.

During Zach’s three-year career, he has managed 344 strikeouts, and his earned run average is at 4.06. In extension, Zach may not have had the most achieving start to his career. If anything, he’s often made the news for avoidable reasons.
How did Zach Plesac break his hand?
Zach Plesac has found himself on the injury list after his last game against the Mariners. Manager of the Guardians, Terry Francona, revealed that this injury probably occurred when Zach punched the pitching mound out of frustration when hit for a homer. After the incident, he managed to break his pitching hand. Consequently, he reached the injured list.

As has been noted, Zach found himself on the injury list last season after aggressively ripping off his shirt hit his thumb on a chair. Concurrently, he was out of action for three weeks. During the 2020 season, Plesac was reprimanded for breaking COVID protocols and ranting about it on a deleted Instagram video.
Xzavion Curry and lefty Kirk McCarty will replace the two injured pitchers on the roster. Righty Cody Morris will start in place of Zach and will take on his rotation spot for now.
What next for Cleveland Guardians?
The Cleveland Guardians are topping the American League Central Division with 68 wins and 62 losses at 0.523. However, only a little behind them are the Minnesota Twins at 0.515. After yesterday’s game, Guardians pitchers Zach Plesac and Aaron Civale are heading to the injured list. The injuries come at the wrong time for the Guardians looking to seal the Central Division.
