There, he gave his insights on how to get a competitive advantage in business and life. Talking about the same, Alex said, “That (understanding the competition briefly before competing with them) to me is a competitive advantage. So that’s the way I’ve always looked at business. When I think about my partners, I’m out there in the world thinking how can we bring value to our partners.”

Talking about the NBA legend, A-Rod said, “In the process, the practice has always been more fun in the game because I used to talk to Kobe Bryant about this all the time. You got to be obsessed with the process, the pain of it, trying to reach perfection even though perfection’s not going to be there.” 

A-Rod’s competitive edge led him to build a billion dollar venture

Alex has seen only two dreams growing up: play baseball professionally and enter the business world. Shortly after turning 18, he earned his first salary from the big league and bought a couple of Rolex watches. Later that year, Rodriguez sold those Rolexes to buy his first real estate, starting his investment firm, A-Rod Corp., which is now worth over a billion dollars.
