Baseball as a sport has been around for centuries. America has seen the rise and fall of many great players that eventually turned into legends. Since it’s the nature of humanity to have different opinions, the same goes for ballplayers’ talents. In today’s world, Major League Baseball analysts help fans form opinions on players by giving stats on them. But since today’s world is also the 21st century, tools like Artificial Intelligence also exist. The world has changed a lot since men picked up a bat and ball in the late 18th century.

For those who have been living under a rock, Chat GPT is the latest technology that everyone wants a piece of. Ever since the program’s introduction last year, it has gained a lot of fans. And they exist not just in the world of IT experts but anyone who is computer-literate wants to use it. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before people’s intrigue gave way to questions about the top MLB players. But when Chat GPT answered, no one was happy.

The Game Day MLB asked the AI who the best players were to grace the league since the beginning of the century. As it turned out, the answer enraged fans. The top player was Mike Trout, followed by Albert Pujols, Derek Jeter, Barry Bonds, and Miguel Cabrera. No doubt a varied list, although some questioned putting Jeter above Bonds and Cabrera. Since Bonds missed out on the Hall of Fame because of his PED past, fans don’t want him on this list either.

The latter half of the list says Clayton Kershaw, Ichiro Suzuki, Randy Johnson, Alex Rodriguez, and Mariano Rivera at the end. Putting Mo at the bottom was another decision that irked baseball Twitter, followed by mixed opinions on the controversial player that is A-Rod.

As it turns out, AI is not always consistent. Which is why the rumors of technology taking over the world may take some time to come true yet.

Baseball fans expressed how they felt about this current listing.

Unhappy with The Game Day MLB’s list, fans asked Chat GPT on their own and decided to come up with their own lists.

One wondered why Shohei Ohtani, arguably one of the most talented players currently, wasn’t listed at all.

Some wondered at the placements of Bonds and Jeter.
