The Los Angeles Angels are in trouble. Despite not being a historically strong team, they have managed to land a few stars here and there. While the most obvious one may be Shohei Ohtani, veteran Mike Trout is just as important. As the baseball gods would have it, both are suffering from injuries at the same time. The Halos have been left in a lurch and they’re languishing at the bottom of the AL West.

The good thing about Shohei Ohtani is that he is two players in one, so while his pitching is compromised, his hitting abilities can still be used. But there is only one Mike Trout, who is recovering from a left hamate fracture. His wrist is too delicate to be able to hold a baseball bat right now, so the center fielder has shifted gears to golf. Or more accurately, his dream project in collaboration with golf legend Tiger Woods. And it is sure to leave the Angels in even more of a twist, but they’re strangely quiet.

Among talks of Trout leaving baseball for golf, Los Angeles has been upended. MLB fans have been devastated to see their favorite slugger on the IL but it’s nothing new. This year, what is novel, however, is that the 11x All-Star is building Trout National – The Reserve in New Jersey. The personal project doesn’t require him to be quite so hands-on as baseball and moreover has been years in the making. What are the Los Angeles Angels doing to keep Trout in their colors?

The center fielder has always pledged loyalty but after spending more than a decade with them, there’s still no World Series ring on his fingers. Playoffs rarely come and go and 2023 will most likely not be the year they make it again. What, exactly, is keeping Trout in LA? The Halos cannot guarantee anything and are almost sure to lose Shohei Ohtani too.

While the Japanese phenom will survive, what happens to Mike Trout? Golf and Tiger Woods may sweep him up to the greens, never to be seen again. The project is taking baby steps to completion, but progress is being made every day. And the Angels may not be able to do anything about it. Continued loyalty can only last so long when nothing is received in return.

Woods and Trout have been heavily involved in codesigning the layout of the course. A lifelong dream of the Angels player, he will get to live out his golf dreams on his personal greens by 2025 at the earliest. The baseballer recently announced huge news – course routing had been completed for Trout National.

He visited the grounds with Woods in tow, who is recovering from an ankle surgery of his own and has rarely been seen in public since April. But for his friend, he made an effort. Things seem to be going smoothly on the golf front, while there’s no return date set for baseball.
