Having played for over two decades, all while winning multiple titles, the former New York Yankees captain Derek Jeter is a big name in the sporting world. Known for his brilliant determination and zeal for success, he became the face of the Yankees. It’s almost a decade since the legendary player retired, but Jeter has not left the same determination behind, instead has taken into the greens.

The ex-Yankees captain is working hard to repeat his success with baseball in golf. Jeter, who also organizes an annual invitational golf tournament, often spends time perfecting his golfing skills. Even though He has found success in the sport, there are parts of it that the star baseball player rarely likes. Putting a differential between baseball and golf, recently, Jeter opened up about frustrating things about golf.

Jeter played in the American Family Insurance Championship at University Ridge Golf Course. He played there along with Michael Phelps, Andy North, and Zach Johnson for a noble cause. On the sidelines of the event, Jeter opened up about his struggles with the game.

Jeter explains why baseball and golf can not be equated as equal and said,” People always say all the time. So you play baseball. You should be able to hit a golf ball. I can hit it. It just doesn’t go straight. I can make contact. It just, unfortunately, doesn’t go where I want it to go.”

He then opined on the different variables and added, “But the thing with golf is there are just too many things to think about. It’s like elbow here, shoulder here, feet here. You hit it, and then you say, Forgot about the wind. You know what I mean? There are two main things.”

Jeter focused that sometimes he wonder why he started playing golf and said, ” Yeah, it’s one of the most frustrating things that I think I’ve ever done in my life, and I don’t know why I started it.” Though, Jeter feels different now, once he even got appreciated for his determination by Tiger Woods.

Although Jeter feels he is in no way near a perfect golf player. In contradiction, even Tiger Woods has appreciated Jeter for his right conduct. Woods called Jeter one of the best athletes who ever lived and praised him for his determination to learn new things. These words came when Jeter shared the greens with the champion golfer.

During those conversations, Jeter showed his competitive spirit, which only a few athletes have. Although Jeter finds golf difficult, as the world knows him, it won’t take long to prove this version of himself wrong.
