Opening Day for the 2023 season is here and along with it, new faces, new rules, and new virtual ballparks. MLB The Show 23 is taking the baseball world by a firestorm. However, another baseball game is gearing up to make its entrance. Mike Trout of the Halos, The Sandlot star Patrick Renna, and Ken Griffey Jr. – an MLB legend and an idol to many, including Alex Rodriguez, are promoting the mobile game together.
The launch trailer for MLB 9 innings 23 features the three mentioned above, as the cover athletes of the game. They are all bringing their signature charm to the game and it’s bound to get baseball fans excited, who are already hyped up on adrenaline from the regular season commencing! Trout certainly is upping his off-field game. 48 hours after announcing his partnership with Tiger Woods in building a private golf course named ‘Trout National – The Reserve’, the slugger has come back yet again with a bang!

The trailer begins with a touch of humor when Renna, who’s the catcher, calls out to his teammates, “Easy out everybody, easy out.” As MLB All-Star, Mike Trout makes a grand entry, holding a bat in hand and ready to do some damage.

He takes his position at the plate when Renna takes a look at him and goes, “Like I said, easy out.” He just shakes his head and takes his stance. A pitch faster than the wind came hurtling towards him and in a perfect arc, the unnamed captain of the Halos sends it flying out into the sun.
The next few shots are of someone running as the ball soars over them. Just as the ball is about to go out, the unknown someone catches it by leaping on the side of the fence. And who is this mystery player with the number 24 on the back of their jersey? None other than the legendary Ken Griffey Jr. As the camera pans to his wide grin and a wink. Renna can only mutter, “Like I said, easy out, buddy.” And a montage of the game graphics ensues for the rest of the trailer.
MLB fans are here for the ride!
The mobile game is not only packed with over 2,000 avatars of real-world players, including slugger Mike Trout and Ken Griffey Jr., but it also offers an authentic MLB experience that lets the player play along with the 2023 season in real time. And baseball fans are here for the ride!
