Not too long ago, the Bronx didn’t look like baseball royalty. Injuries to key pieces like Gerrit Cole, DJ LeMahieu, and Giancarlo Stanton had cast a shadow over the Yankees’ 2025 hopes. Fast forward to today, and the Yankees have erased all doubts with a record-breaking, jaw-dropping start to the season. And if you need validation, just ask Alex Rodriguez.
In their explosive 20-9 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, the Yankees launched nine homers, sending baseballs a combined 3,695 feet into orbit. That power surge didn’t just blow up the scoreboard—it tied an MLB record for the most home runs in a team’s first three games, matching the Detroit Tigers’ 2006 feat with 15 bombs.
Let’s just say the Bronx Bombers are living up to their name…and then some.

During a fun Q&A, the former Yankees star commended the Yankees and made a fun prediction on their captain. When A-Rod was asked, “What are your thoughts on the Yankees hot start?”. He didn’t hesitate and replied, “I think they’ve a really good team, and I think they are going to surprise a lot of people!”.
He’s undoubtedly right. The Yankees have been turning heads, and honestly, they have been unstoppable. They started the season and exploded the internet with their numbers.

By all fairness, the Yankees have surprised the people already. With their key players sidelined, they turned to their young stars such as Jasson Domínguez, Anthony Volpe, and Ben Rice, who delivered remarkably when it mattered the most. They recently showed up against the Arizona Diamondbacks and helped the team break multiple MLB records.
Another jaw-dropping twist that came during Rodriguez’s Q&A was when he was asked, “How many home runs will Aaron Judge hit?”. Without taking the next breath, he replied, “70.” Wait, wow. That was one massive prediction, right? If that really happens, it’ll put Judge in historic company. He will be joining Mark McGwire (70 home runs in 1998) and Barry Bonds (73 home runs in 2001).
What’s your perspective on:
With A-Rod predicting 70 homers for Judge, are we witnessing the next baseball legend in the making?

As Rodriguez says, the Yankees are going to surprise a lot of people. And if we were to take any hint from their explosive start to the season, it’s just the beginning.
Aaron Boone applauds Yankees’ strong start and emerging young talents
The Yankees have already surpassed the early-season expectations. Despite all the injury setbacks and Juan Soto’s exit, the team’s offense has been formidable. Although it’s very early to draw conclusions already, the signs the Yankees have been showing are just too hard to ignore.
Before the Arizona Diamondbacks matchup, manager Aaron Boone laid it all out on how the young core has held the line strong amidst the setbacks.

“It’s four games, but I’ve certainly been encouraged by Austin Volpe,” Boone said. “Even before Dominguez had two hits and the homer yesterday, there wasn’t a ton of results for him necessarily in the first few games. But I thought his at-bats were really good.”
Boone emphasized how the young stars have been carrying the momentum of spring training into the regular season.
He didn’t flinch at admitting their development curve, particularly about Domínguez. He explained, “My expectation is that [Domínguez] becomes an outstanding defensive left fielder… I want his development to go as well as possible.” And it’s a given that the pressure was inevitable on all of them, yet they delivered exceptionally.

Initially, the Yankees were close to a shaky start. But with power, poise, and a little Bronx grit, the team, particularly their young core, is already on the verge of creating history. If this is how the Yankees are performing early in the season, the league must brace itself for what’s coming next.
