Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees are a perfect match together. The two have complemented each other the best. Judge provided the much-needed leadership that the Yankees lacked after the retirement of Derek Jeter, while the Yankees also helped Judge make an impact in Major League Baseball.

But it is a pity that Aaron Judge has not signed his extension in the Bronx. Although the Yankees had offered a new contract during the 2022 free agency, Judge rejected the proposal.

Recently, a former Yankee, Alex Rodriguez, weighed his opinion on why Aaron Judge and New York Yankees are a perfect match. Because he has the mindset of a champion player. And, If the Yankees fail to retain their marquee player in the upcoming free agency, it will be a heartbreak for millions of fans.

Alex Rodriguez heaps praise on Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge has always been clear on his stand. He has always been vocal about his love for the Pinstripes. But the main question is, do the Yankees feel the same for their star player? Talking about it, A-Rod said that Judge is a world-class player. He also praised Judge for his confidence to speak the truth.

“The Yankees-Judge situation is as compelling of a drama as you can write up. On one end, you have a supreme athlete who is a world-class kid, New York-proven, Madison Avenue friendly, who rode the dice and bet on himself… I love that he has that type of confidence,” A-rod said to the NY Post podcast.

A-Rod also clarified that Judge would not come easily to the Yankees. And it will cost them a fortune.

“He is playing at a higher level than any other player in the big leagues. And he is the most valuable player not only on the field but as a marketing tool for an empire like the New York Yankees… They are a marriage made in heaven,” A-Rod added. “But they both gambled and I think there is gonna cost the New York Yankees a fortune…”

Judge owns the 2022 season

With 29 home runs from the plate, Aaron Judge is the frontrunner to win the AL MVP this season. Currently, he is on a pace to hit over 60 home runs by the end of the 2022 MLB season. And if things do not go south, he will break the historical record of the late Roger Maris.
