“Give Him a Lifetime Contract” – $8.7 Million Milwaukee Brewers Star Wins Millions Over by Paying Off Everyone’s Tab at a Pub

Since 2018, the Milwaukee Brewers have surprisingly not missed a single postseason, until 2022 of course, after the Phillies overtook them in the wild card battle with one more victory. Shining bright with the Brewers since 2021 is upcoming shortstop prospect, Willy Adames, who made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018 and was traded to Milwaukee in 2021. And since then, the 27-year-old Dominican republic born shortstop has started gathering immense clout amongst the Brew Crew fandom, and his recent appearance at Dugout 54 was simply another testament to that.

Earlier this month, the Milwaukee Brewers announced a fan event, free for all at Dugout 54 on January 18th. The event would feature Brewers stars like Willy Adames, Freddy Peralta, and Aaron Ashby, amongst many others. Subsequently, the event happened, and shortstop Adames made a generous decision, which led to criticism toward the Brewers’ ownership starring Mark Attanasio.

After the bar displayed a full house last evening, Willy Adames surprised everyone in attendance with a small speech, thanking them. Following the speech, the shortstop decided to take everyone’s tabs, leaving the crowd in cheers.

Adames said, “Thank you for coming. For us, it’s a pleasure to be with you guys. I really appreciate you guys coming up in support. So, because you guys show so much love, we’re going to show love to you guys. I got the tabs for all of you guys tonight.”

Willy Adames made sure to leave his fans in awe. As a result, the Milwaukee Brewers’ Twitter fandom asked for the Beermakers to instantly offer a contract extension to the shortstop. This is how fans reacted:

At the same time, fans also criticized the Brewers’ ownership for letting a player take the tabs, and not doing so themselves.

The Milwaukee Brewers stalwart is only one season away from free agency

In March 2022, the Brewers offered a one-year contract worth $4.6 million. Now, with rumors of a one-year $8.7 million contract around the corner for 2023, Adames may be looking toward various suitors once he finally enters free agency after the 2023 season.
