The New York Yankees have been going through a turbulent MLB season this year. While the return of Aaron Judge has enlightened their hope to qualify for the Postseason, again, things got a twisted turn. Their two back-to-back defeats against the Toronto Blue Jays once again pushed them a few steps back from reaching the Postseason. On Wednesday, the Yankees slugger’s brief media session, lasting less than three minutes, revealed insights of his worst season.

Giancarlo Stanton, the most reliable Yankees outfielder, admits his failures but still defends his performance with rage. While fans and media jumped on this particular outfielder’s failure as a reason, he reflected on his struggle to “work and adjust” on multiple things. However, he didn’t hold back while expressing his sadness and regret at the same time.

Players often go through ups and downs in their careers. While their achievements benefit the team, their failures negatively impact their team’s position. In 2023, The New York Yankees and Giancarlo Stanton are witnessing this phase. The team is already struggling with defeats, and now, when they need their star outfielder to stand up again, his poor performance put another nail in the coffin.

The Yankees Outfielder spoke to the media on Wednesday after losing the three-game series to The Toronto Blue Jays.  While protecting himself, the DH said with a bit of anger and remorse, “A lot of things I’ve got to work and adjust on, but if you guys think I’m just showing up and going out there and not working, then I don’t know what to tell you.”

Stanton’s stats average this season has gone to .188, and his OPS to .694, following the last defeat against the Blue Jays. For the last 11 games, he stands for 2-for-39 with 17 strikeouts. The player himself is not satisfied while looking at his scoreboard. About his batting average, he said, “Terrible.”

With yet another setback, the Yankees have suffered another series loss, further diminishing their chances in the playoffs.
