Yesterday’s game saw a brilliant performance from the Yankees pitcher on the mound as he allowed one run on just two hits, struck out nine, and walked none in eight innings. The night ended with New York’s 5-3 victory over Toronto and Cole later spoke to reporters about what it meant to have his son witness his MLB prowess. “It’s just an experience I’m super grateful for. It keeps you grounded.”

“It gives you a sense of self-worth to set an example for him whether you have a successful night or not, or how you go about your business. He loves the Yankees, he loves all my teammates. As a father, any time you can make your son smile, it lights you up. It gives you a boost of energy so I’m super grateful for it,” the pitcher added.
