Like cooking, Gerrit Cole loves wine. The 27 World Series champions knew this, and when they signed Cole on a $324 million deal, they reflected it. The New York Yankees “opted for two bottles of Masseto — one from 2004 and another from 2005 — a Tuscan vintage considered one of the top red wines in the world.” It sweetened the entry into the Bronx, with ace pitching calling it, “Not many people in the world know that that’s my favorite wine.”
