Umpiring is a largely thankless job, especially in baseball, with players and fans criticizing an umpire’s decision at every turn. But there are also times when they make terrible calls and this happened during a recent college game. Mississippi Valley State University faced a 7-3 defeat in a recent game against the University of New Orleans. But in the bottom of the ninth inning, with two outs, an umpire made an egregious call to end the game.
Mississippi Valley State outfielder Davon Mims was up to bat with two outs. Mims showed frustration when a close strike was called, putting him at two strikes. The umpire then called a low and away ball as a strike, ending the game on a terrible call. However, most recently, that umpire’s punishment has also come to light.

Other fans applauded the punishment and were happy that the umpire was suspended.
I'm glad to know that the umpire has been replaced. I think it's really awesome that the players from the opposing team agreed that the umpire was wrong even though his calls benefitted them. Even cooler was the fact that they tried to calm the batter down and reassure him.
