Spring training is going on in full swing as players get in shape for the upcoming season. Apart from testing out new rosters and adjusting to MLB’s rule changes, players are also trying out new field positions. One of them is the newest Yankees captain, Aaron Judge. The 30-year-old returns after a rather tumultuous free agency period that ultimately didn’t last long. Why? Because Judge and the Pinstripes realized they were made for one another.
Judge has been a dominant batter on the diamond, as was witnessed by the record-breaking 62 home runs last season. Not only that, but Judge excels in the outfield, making full use of his 6ft 7in stature to catch even the most stray balls. But since spring training is the perfect time for experimentation, it looks like All-Rise will make his debut in a new position.

Judge primarily patrols the outfield when he’s not batting but according to Brian Hoch, the Bronx captain will take up a new post on the field. The MLB.com writer recently tweeted, “Aaron Judge will make his spring debut in left field on either Wednesday or Thursday.”

This news doesn’t come as much of a surprise since there has been a lot of chatter about who’s going to cover the left field. With Judge moving to this position, the right field is left open for Giancarlo Stanton to show off his skills.
While some have questioned this decision and want the Yankees to sign a new player, some are happy because it looks like Aaron Judge can do it all.
Fans are excited to see the Yankees captain in yet another new role
Throughout his MLB career, All-Rise has never played in left field before. The management’s decision to put him there now only goes to show how much he is trusted as a team player. And while not everyone is satisfied, most Bronx fans are excited to see how this will go. After all, it’s only spring training.
Having judge play left in an expansive outfield is less of a bad idea cause we got Darth Bader in center covering ground.

Judge played all three outfield positions in the minors and it makes the most sense if you want to play Stanton in the OF at times. Bader is one of the best CF's in baseball and needs to stay there. This is a good thing and gives them more flexibility in a long season.

Since Judge showcased his skills at-bat last season, some people think he could do well as a shortstop too. Because let’s be honest, there isn’t much the man can’t do.
