Last August, Freddie, and Chelsea pledged a staggering $500,000 donation to help build a new baseball clubhouse which is set to include batting cages and locker rooms. The amount he donated is certainly something that proves Freddie’s unwavering love for his alma mater and his desire to give back to the place that gave him so much.

Recently, Chelsea shared a glimpse of the old locker rooms that held a special place in Freddie’s heart. With the caption, “El Modena is getting a new baseball clubhouse! Swipe to see Freddie’s high school locker”. The snippets reminded baseball fans that the places one comes from can have a lasting impact on their life! 

The alma mater holds a special place in Freddie Freeman’s life

There’s something about returning to one’s roots that can fill the soul with a sense of warmth and belonging. For Freddie Freeman, his alma mater is a place that has a special meaning to him. Freddie frequents the campus often, for training as well as visits the school with his father.

They have a tradition of practicing baseball on campus and it’s been a ritual for them that’s spanned over two decades! In a 2023 Dodgers tour, Freddie called the place “kind of our sanctuary,” in regard to the countless memories the two have made there together.
