This season, many first basemen brought their magic to the diamond. One name that shines bright among the rest is Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. While his team, the Jays, was standing at the last position this season in the standings, he was stellar. He hit 323 and 30 home runs and got in a whopping 103 runs. He has earned yet another All-Star nod!
On another side is Freddie Freeman, who took his already thriving career to just another level this season. Through injuries and heartbreaks, Freeman has played, and how. In World Series game 1, his walk-off grand slam was a no-brainer. The first in the history of MLB! Now both of these first basemen are listed by the MLB in their new post as two of the most dominant first basemen in the game.

The post was captioned, “Who was the top first baseman in baseball this year?” Of course, the first names that spring to our minds are the LA Dodgers star and the Blue Jays baseman. Guerrero Jr.’s insane stats had no one doubting he would make the list. However, despite his stellar performance, Jon Heyman has reported that Guerrero will move from his position to third base full-time in 2025.
Freeman, meanwhile, turns out to have played the postseason not just with a busted ankle but also with broken rib cartilage. His grit and resilience truly set him apart from the rest. Freeman or Iron Man!? Meanwhile, the internet is divided on who, after all, is the top baseman in baseball this year. Ssshh… Freeman might win this!

Have an interesting take?
Will Freddie Freeman outweigh Guerrero Jr.?
One fan stated “FREDDIE FREEMAN” like it’s a fact! And we understand where that comes from. Freddie Freeman was a master blaster this season. But if there is one game we have to talk about, that is the highlight of his season, it’s the grand Walk of Slam in the World Series. He made history with that, and well, he very much deserves to be MLB’s first baseman hero.

It’s all Freeman fans here in the house. “Definitely, Freeman; he’s the only one I can think of,” said one fan. But truly, Freeman has etched his mark in everybody’s memories this season. We often say a diamond cut thousands of times shines the brightest. And this is true with Freddie Freeman. He faced immense pressure emotionally, from his son’s ghastly autoimmune condition to his very own struggles with physical health. But he played and, how, literally won the World Series.
Another user stated, “It was Freddie, obviously. He literally won MVP of the WS.” At this point, it seems everyone is a Freeman fan, whether they support Blue Crew or not. Freeman also never had his name written on that MVP title. During the entire season, we heard Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. But look at the beauty of baseball; the entire gameplay changed post-season. We agree Freeman’s son’s manifestation might have worked his magic too—and Freeman got the MVP award!
Even the Jays star has fans; one said, “Vlad started slow but was the best 2nd half.” Well, Guerrero Jr. did make some errors during the regular season. He started 11 games in the third base position and committed two errors. However, in the second half, he picked up the pace.

One user said, “V. Guerrero Jr. 🔥” This statement runs true if we were to point out the stats in the regular season. It was then that the star had a great foothold. But the same cannot be said about his post-season run. But given that all MLB is about the regular season? Does this fact count? If it does, then it seems Freeman wins it big time!
Well, Freddie Freeman is the MVP, the star, and the moment right now. It would be interesting to see him fight this one off with Guerrero Jr. What do you think?
