The fans of Major League Baseball are a passionate bunch. While some choose to express that with almost unending support of their chosen franchise, some others choose different ways. The latter expression was on full display as the division-leading LA Dodgers took on the Colorado Rockies at Dodger Stadium lately.
The LA Dodgers are romping away with the NL West Division title. With 70 wins in the season so far, they look like a team truly ready to take on the post-season. Unfortunately, on the night, they were struck by the injury bug that can get an over performing team to stumble.

The LA Dodgers’ star first baseman, Freddie Freeman, had to exit the game when a wayward pitch caught the batter on the knee. Freddie Freeman took the walk and occupied first base, before sitting out the final two innings of the game. Hitter Miguel Rojas replaced the star hitter for the rest of the game.

Reportedly, the injury is not a serious one, and the exit was merely precautionary. However, more news is awaited regarding the star’s playing status. The star has been an integral part of a superb offense for the Dodgers recording a 0.344 average so far this season.
And while the Dodgers seem in pennant winning form, the batter’s absence could see them dip. The fans were quick to jump on that realization, too.
Fans React as Freddie Freeman Sees Early Exit
Fans of Major League baseball had quite a vitriolic reaction to the star’s exit from the game. Winners are easy to hate in baseball and while some reaction can be put down to sheer jealousy, the fans went above and beyond to make their dislike of the Dodgers known.

Some fans even ascribed layers of planning to the freak accident. Even going as far ass bringing in Freeman’s former home team in the Atlanta Braves as a part of the conspiracy.

It didn’t help that the Braves superstar too had a similar incident only a few weeks ago happen to him and get covered.

With the 2023 season truly now shaping up and taking form, fans now will start seeing the rosters form up. And if Freeman is to drop from the Dodgers’ starting lineup, it may shake up the franchise’s chances. The Dodgers will hope that it truly isn’t so.
