Getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame is inarguably the highest honor for any baseball player. Out of 22,000 players, only 268 have received the honor till now. Recently, Fred McGriff unanimously got inducted into the HOF by the CBEPC (Contemporary Baseball Era Players Committee). Having played for six MLB teams from 1986 to 2004, the CBEPC has chosen McGriff ahead of Barry Bonds.
And this is something that MLB fans are not okay with.

Soon as the news went up on social media, many congratulated Fred for this wonderful achievement. However, a large section of MLB fans also expressed their anger towards the committee for not voting the Giants legend Barry Bonds to get his HOF induction.
Fred McGriff over Barry Bonds!
For getting the highest honor ever for a ballplayer, McGriff has been receiving high praise from the entire MLB community. Notably, he is now part of the 1% of MLB players with the Hall of Fame induction. But what the writers’ association couldn’t do, CBEPC did. The CBEPC, whereas, consisted of 16 members, and McGriff got all 16 votes in his favor. Needless, the former power-hitter is delighted with the news while calling it “just icing on the cake.”

He also added, “I’ve been totally blessed over the years… For it(selection) to be unanimous, it’s a beautiful thing.”
But this beautiful thing did not come without people getting angry. Notably, once again, prominent players like Bonds, Clemens, and Palmeiro did not receive enough votes to become the HOF inductee. Despite putting in the required numbers; their career is considered tainted because of their involvement with PEDs. However, this still does not stop people from wanting to see Bonds or Clemens in HOF.
What are the fans saying about the unanimous Hall of Fame selection?
Despite the people who are on Bonds’ side, there are many who congratulated Fred McGriff for his incredible achievement. Taking to Twitter, MLB fans expressed their mixed reactions. Here are a few tweets:

The @baseballhall is still incomplete…the fact that Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, McGwire, and Schilling aren’t in is a joke!
