Fred Lynn was an outstanding outfielder in the ballpark, but he is an even better person off of it. The iconic Boston Red Sox former player, always ready with a joke at his lips, had his knee replacement surgery on his 71st birthday. And it looks like Lynn is ready to embark on a new journey with his two new knees.?
Even after his surgery, he took it in stride with a smile on his face every step of the way. And after the doctors told him that he would need walkers to get around during his recovery days, Fred remained undaunted, quipping that he?d prefer a different type of walker – a bottle of Johnny Walker whiskey. And it seems like the alcohol route worked! With a little help from his favorite spirit, Fred was up and about just 19 days after his surgery.

Truly an amazing recovery, congratulations. BUT you are making me look bad as my wife says, "he can do two knees and you won't even have your one done"!

Fred, you had 857 walks in your career. With two new knees and two bottles of Johnny Walker, you will have many more.
Keep up the good recovery.
