Be it for kids or adults, birthdays are special for everyone. And people tend to celebrate it their own way. And the Boston Red Sox legend, Fred Lynn, also chose a rather unique way of celebrating his 71st birthday. After undergoing partial knee replacement surgery on both his knees, the Red Sox’s Hall of Famer is now recuperating. The legendary baseballer who used to leave the audience stunned with his spectacular skills on the diamond went through this process with a smile on his face.

His approach toward the surgery and recuperating from it is somewhat similar. He’s putting in the work and exercise required to get better. But he’s doing so while enjoying the whole process.

Maintaining a positive attitude while going through any procedure helps when someone recuperates. The former MLB slugger is the perfect example of this. Throughout his procedure, he has remained immensely motivated. Not only did he stay in a positive mood, but he also kept everyone around him in a light mood.

And now, Fred recently shared a small video of exercising, but with a twist. In the video, he can be seen stretching his legs for flexibility. To do it, he had the perfect thing in mind, using his golf belt. However, this simply was not enough. He plugged his headphones into his iPod and blasted “One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer” by George Thorogood in his ears as he completed his exercise.

It is a long journey ahead, but with the strength that he is getting from his fans, the Red Sox legend might recover a bit early.
