The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks are locked in an exciting NLDS battle. The postseason usually brings out the best in a team, as the D-Backs are proving. But the historically strong Dodgers have lost their playoff edge. It has allowed Arizona to run straight into the home run history books.
Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, NL MVP-worthy candidates in the regular season, are strangely absent in October. While the Dodgers defeated the Diamondbacks all year long, they cannot hold their own anymore. Now, it’s time for The Grand Canyon State to shine.

What an unbelievable night, with an unimaginable play. Lance Lynn, giving a repeat performance of what he has done all season long, was a boon to the D-Backs. The Dodgers pitcher’s first two innings went alright, but it was in the third inning when things exploded.
Geraldo Perdomo started with a home run against Lynn. Two batters later, Ketel Marte did the same, blasting a long ball into the right-field bleachers at Chase Field. Then, Christian Walker hit yet another moonshot, with Arizona going baffling. But the Diamondbacks were not yet done.
Impossibly, 23-year-old Gabriel Moreno came in with yet another home run in the same inning, and the crowd was on its feet. It was a 420-foot blast that cemented the name of the club in history books for decades to come. The Arizona Diamondbacks are the only MLB team to hit an insane four home runs in the same postseason inning.

It was a rough night for the Los Angeles team, no doubt, but Arizona exceeded all expectations. Having traditionally relied on speed this season, they have now found their groove in power hitting. The Dodgers have yet to make a single run and the way things are going, the D-Backs may just make a sweep of the NL West leaders.
Chase Field Is In a Frenzy
It was, without a doubt, one of the craziest games of the postseason. Not only did the Grand Canyon State outdo itself massively, but the City of Angels is lacking equally.

Regular-season wins are great because they take a club to the playoffs. But once there, a team needs to do even better to stay in that fight. This year, it’s likely that LA will be out of October baseball after losing to Arizona.
