

The reigning World Series Champions Houston Astros may have kept their roster relatively unchanged this off-season, but they did suffer a tough blow with the loss of Justin Verlander, a crucial cornerstone to their framework. However, the team does still have All-Star Framber Valdez who has been making waves out on the field in the last season and is poised for even greater things in the coming years.
Now that Valdez has more responsibility on his shoulders, Dana Brown, the general manager of the Houston Astros, has taken notice. In fact, Valdez recently opened up regarding what he thought about Brown’s interest in locking him down with a long-term contract extension. Let’s take a look at what he had to say!

Framer Valdez revealed that he’s been feeling pretty good!
In a recent interview, Framber Valdez revealed that he’s feeling positive about the possibility of extending his contract with the Astros, “It feels good definitely, it feels good that he’s definitely thinking of me. It’s something that will probably be good for my career. Those are things I’m gonna let my agent handle. He knows the most about it and things are a little bit out of my hands”

The interviewer brought up a question about who exactly was the team’s ace in the wake of Justin Verlander’s departure, Valdez didn’t bat an eye and simply vowed to keep working hard, “I think I’m just going to continue to work as hard as I have been, the last, the last couple a years and I have to thank God for putting me in this situation and giving me these opportunities that he has and continue supporting the team as best as I can”

The phenomenal pitcher is also thrilled to be sticking around with the Astros for the long haul, “Something that definitely feels good being with the Astros are a great organization and for me, it’s something that would be an easy transition obviously just being here a lot longer but something that’ll definitely make me feel good,” Valdez said.

Framber Valdez had an amazing season last year. He racked up 17 wins and a career-high 194 strikeouts. And it seems like the pitcher is ready to take things to the next level.

Also, let’s not forget about Valdez’s stunning postseason performance. He delivered a flawless 3-0 with an excellent 1.44 ERA and 33 strikeouts in just 25 innings. There’s no telling how far will Houston Astros go with Valdez at the mound, but it certainly is looking good for the team!
