It has been a season of surprises, with the underdog and less favored teams, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers making it to the playoffs. Given the recent past, no one imagined this scenario unfurling, but it has happened, pulling all eyes on the World Series battle. However, with many favoring Texas, it seemed to be a one-sided battle, but not anymore. The latest development in the Arizona-Texas equation boasts a different story.

Although it’s all about effort, hard work, and consistency for success, sometimes outside combination does help. The D-Backs, who have made it to the World Series after 22 years, have got four such varieties in favor as they look for another title against the strong Rangers.

It’s a World Series battle, and every factor consideration is crucial for the participating teams, especially when it favors them. Although the D-Backs did not get much of them during the league stage, they seem to be at the advantage now. Notably, it is because of the similarities between their 2001 and 2023 campaign.

A Twitter user highlighted parallels between the 2001 World Series, which marked Arizona’s initial Fall Classic triumph, and the 2023 World Series. “Our ace hit a bird in 2001, and our ace hit a bird in 2023. All the dates of the World Series games in 2001 are the same as the dates in 2023. The all-star game was in Seattle in 2001 and 2023. George Bush threw the first pitch in 2001 and 2023″, were the key observations of the user.

This is comforting for the Diamondbacks and a significant boost in their World Series campaign. But for it to turn into reality, they will have to replicate the victory this year much like the sync of events between 2001 and 2023. This begs one to speculate: are things working on a similar note for the D-Backs after the NLCS win?

Arizona Looks to Win Texas on the Road for a Comforting Home as Coincidences Favor Them

Although the factors are in the favor of the Snakes, without a perfect start, their relevance would be limited. The 2023 NLCS winners also know this and doing the same.

At the moment, they are leading the first game against the Rangers with a score of 5-3, after a slow start. With five innings completed, they look comfortable, with the effect of coincidences visible. However, the challenge won’t end until the game and series draw to a close.

Although the D-Backs look to finish the first game strong, they have to be cautious for the rest of the series to win it by consolidating the similarities in their 2001 and 2023 campaign.
