Baseball is a sport that takes years of practice and hard work to get right. Batting, pitching, and fielding are all equally important to the game and require dedicated practice. But when practicing, one has to be extremely careful and use the proper equipment. Ian Jenkins is a former MLB draft pick and has now turned to personal coaching.

Jenkins helps people with 1 on 1 coaching and personalized training sessions. He particularly focuses on batting. A recent video he posted on Instagram showcases just why one shouldn?t practice hitting while at home.

Ian Jenkins is a former college-level baseball player who was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2017 MLB Draft. He was picked in the 40th round and didn’t make it to the big league, and is now working as a personal coach. He works primarily as a batting coach and helps people improve their swing. Jenkins recently shared a video of accidents that happened in his house while practicing his batting swing. In the Instagram video, he shows two incidents that occur.?

In the caption, Jenkins said, ?I can?t believe stuff just gets in my way when I?m trying to swing.” The first incident shows him swinging his bat while at home and hitting his fan. Luckily, there is very little damage done to the fan. In the second incident, while swinging, he hits his window shades and damages them. Luckily, he didn?t hit the window.?

Fans reacted to the video and most of them had the same advice: don’t swing the bat in the house. One person said “Today’s lesson….and now we all know why we tell our kids ‘don’t swing the damn bat in the house’…”Another said, “I think you should stop practicing indoors bro lol”. Two people reacted with the same set of emojis “???”. And another person commented, “Why not swing in the garage ? or outside?”

Luckily, nothing serious happened, and he didn?t get hurt. One little league player suffered a freak accident while sleeping. He was lucky that nothing serious happened. Although the personal coach never played at the highest level, he?s rubbed shoulders with some people who are doing it today.

Jenkins played with some baseball stars in High School

Ian Jenkins went to Buford High School in 2015 and during that time played with two current MLB stars. Brandon Marsh of the Philadelphia Phillies and Joey Bart of the San Francisco Giants were high school teammates with Jenkins.?

So, although he did not play at the MLB level, he played with future MLB stars Bart and Marsh. But Jenkins is still using his baseball talent and putting it to good use as a coach. But maybe he should refrain from batting at home from now on. What do you think? Leave your comments below!
