Barry Bonds was one of the most renowned names in the baseball world. His skills and achievements speak for him, but due to his controversies and scandals, this legend has lost his glamour to some extent. Still, his renown and contribution are legendary and can be an example to any young player who wants to set up his mark in this sport. Despite all that, he was not acknowledged by many as the best baseball player, but the Two-Sport legend, in an open interview, backed Bonds up and stood by his side.

Almost a year ago, Deion Sanders sat for an interview with the 7 Figure Squad talking about his NFL journey and the unfair things in the sports field, etc. At almost the end of the interview, NFL legend was asked about the best player according to him from baseball or football. After a little thought, he said, “Barry Bonds. Barry Bonds is the best baseball player I’ve ever seen in my life. There was nothing he couldn’t do.”

He even brought up the HoF election of the 14x All-Star to slam the authorities claiming they have been playing a dirty trick. He continued, “It’s an atrocity what they’re doing with him with the Hall of Fame. That’s an atrocity that I don’t understand. But Barry Bonds even before any steroid accusations, he had 3 MVP’s at home on the shelf.” This legend has his full support for the 7xMVP, despite all his disputed activities.

The Hall of Fame is a dream for all the players who contributed to the sport, and Bonds’ achievement and contribution is written in golden words in the history of MLB. However, the voting process was always been cruel to the legend, making him lose his chance every time he appeared for it.

Hall of Fame is one of the highest honors for a baseball player, but Bonds was missing it for years because of him accused of a steroid case during his professional career. In 2003, the former Giants’ power hitter was accused of taking steroids. His trainer was also indicted for supplying him with the drugs for healing injuries faster. This was the greatest mishap that happened to his glorious MLB career and affected his renown in a negative way.

Though Bonds was eligible for the ballot of HoF for several years, he won’t qualify for the cutoff. According to the Bleacher Report, he appeared for the first time in the voting process in 2013 and witnessed a massive fall in his number of votes. While the criterion is to get 75% votes, the legend only gets 36.2%. Gradually, the number increased, and in 2022, the legend got 66% votes, still, he is much below the required number. The next time, he will appear for the ballot in 2026.
