In the last stretch of the regular season, Bronx fans have had enough. They have watched the New York Yankees implode in on themselves all season long. Brian Cashman’s failure to make major moves in the last offseason, and once again at this year’s trade deadline, was the last straw. Now fans are coming for his head, and they won’t forgive or forget.

An X user named ‘Jon from Maspeth’ decided to launch a ‘Fire Cashman Night’, where Yankees fans can participate by holding posters or wearing t-shirts with these words. It’s the masses’ way of demanding change in the front office, which has long remained stagnant. But the petition has gained enough attention that it has left the front office frustrated.

Irked Pinstripes fans want to prove that the majority can prevail to inspire change, even with an organization as massive as the New York Yankees. Baseball fans have tried to bring change to the fate of the Oakland Athletics but to no avail. However, New York apparently has more power because it’s caught the attention of the front office.

A Twitter user named ‘The Kids Are Alright!‘ recently posted an interesting update. The post’s picture shows a ticketing app where fans can buy tickets for Yankees games in late September. Surprisingly, the section for the 22nd of September is missing from 21st-24th. The series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the 22nd at Yankee Stadium was supposed to be the night that fans petitioned against the GM.

But apparently, the front office has realized what their fans are planning. Tickets for the day are no longer being sold in fear of what havoc the Bronx might wreak. It will be interesting to see what measures the management takes against those who already have tickets for the game and are planning to take action against Cashman.

‘Fire Cashman Night’ Turns Utterly Serious

The fan’s post received some feedback from other baseball fans, who genuinely thought the move was a joke. But Jon From Maspeth even appeared for an interview with The New York Post, stating that his intentions were serious indeed. Nevertheless, many joked about what Sept. 22 is going to look like.

One thought Cashman would work behind the scenes to off Jon from Maspeth in secret.

One thought it wasn’t a serious move from fans.

One is excited to see the game that day.

One wondered if Cashman had a “sense of humor..”
