In the baseball world, many athletes have come and gone, but only a handful of them have left a mark on the sport’s history. Now retired, Albert Pujols, aka ‘The Machine,’ is undoubtedly one of those who left a legacy on the diamond for others to follow. After playing the game for over two decades for three different teams, Pujols became one of the best to achieve a level of greatness that only a few have ever attained. Even though Pujols retired wearing a Cardinals jersey, he spent a significant part of his career playing for the Los Angeles Angels.
And now, with the baseball season not far away, Pujols has been spotted in the Angels clubhouse donning the iconic red jersey. Notably, fans were surprised to watch Pujols in an Angels jersey after almost two years of leaving the franchise.

For those unversed, after spending the first eleven years of his career with the Cardinals, Pujols signed a $240 million deal for ten years with the Angels. However, in the last few years of his contract, the prolific hitter could not play to the best of his potential. This eventually led him to a lot of criticism, and he also got known as “a cautionary tale against big contracts” and “an overpaid designated hitter.”
By the time Pujols left the Angels, there was said to be bad blood between him and the franchise. Thus, watching him back in the Angels’ red came as a shock to many.
Following are some of the reactions of baseball fans toward watching Big Al with the Angels.

There are many baseball fans who do not think Pujols back in the Angels in any role is a good idea. But there are also a few who think it’s the right move by the Anaheims.

Pujols last season was one of the best
The former athlete might not have played up to the best of his potential in the past few years, but that certainly changed when he came on the diamond last season wearing a Cardinals jersey. He ended his career with a tremendous play, hitting the 703rd homer of his career. As he did so, he politely took the fourth position in career’s most home runs by none other than Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.
