Fernando Tatis Jr. is once again at the receiving end of fan hate. The young San Diego Padres star has braved chants of ‘cheater‘ and ‘steroids‘ ever since his return from a suspension. While he has either ignored the issue or responded in kind with his play, baseball fans are relentless. They neither forgive nor forget.
The Padres have already been having a tough time this season. While some hoped the second half would go better, they had no such luck. The first series against the Philadelphia Phillies resulted in a sweep at Citizens Bank Park. To rub salt in the wound, the young Padres shortstop may have an injury.

The second game of Saturday’s doubleheader brought terrible news. The Friars were already losing, with the previous game’s score getting them down 6-4. Then in the sixth inning of Game 2, Tatis had to leave due to a twisted ankle.
According to manager Bob Melvin, the shortstop had hurt himself while playing defense in the early innings.

Per Melvin’s comments to ESPN, it’s possible that Tatis twisted his ankle in the third inning of Game 2 while defending Kyle Schwarber’s line out. He will be considered day-to-day for now, as no other conclusive updates have been given.
Brandon Dixon replaced Tatis in the sixth inning and might see more field time if El Nino is placed on the injured list. He was 0-for-3 with one RBI before being forced to exit, and while it inspired sympathy for some, most baseball fans decided not to end their mockery.
San Diego Padres Fans Have No Best Wishes to Send to Tatis
Injuries may be a natural part of life as an athlete, but it doesn’t mean one ever gets used to it. It evokes compassion in most, but Fernando Tatis Jr. isn’t just anybody.
Baseball fans struggle to overcome the drug use betrayal the shortstop put them through last year. Not many have good wishes of recovery to send him and hope that the injury turns serious.

A rare few actually seemed concerned.
Hope it’s nothing serious. As much as I dislike the guy you never wish injury on someone.
