Playoffs are about to start in Major League Baseball in less than five days. Meanwhile, teams are gearing up to get to the top and win the World Series. One such team is the AL East’s New York Yankees. Following the Yankees winning the division, they are now prepping for the playoffs. Last night, the Yankees went against the Texas Rangers at the Globe Life Field. It was here that the right-hander and pitcher Luis Severino got pulled out of the game after the seventh inning.
In the end, even though the Yankees won, manager Aaron Boone pulling Severino out of the game did not leave the minds of the fans. And therefore, they put their feelings into words when a short clip of Boone talking to Luis got posted on Twitter.

Why did Boone pull Luis Severino out of the game?
In addition to having seven strikeouts, Severino had one of the best starts of his career Monday night against the Rangers. Not only did Luis get seven strikeouts, but he also got pitched seven no-hit innings. In total, he threw 94 pitches but could not complete his no-hits with nine innings.
Aaron Boone had to tell Sevy that he’s taking him out of the game with a no-hitter through seven. He was not pleased pic.twitter.com/dCUrjQaqbE

The reason behind it was that the manager, Aaron Boone, pulled him out of the game just before the start of the eighth inning.
Afterward, Luis got asked if he had finished the no-hitter had he stayed in the game. But he said that he understood the decision and ultimately agreed with it. Additionally, it is clear from the video that Severino did not look like agreeing with Boone over Miguel taking his place.

Fans of the New York Yankees are divided after the game as some agree, but the rest felt Boone made a wrong decision.
What did the fans say about watching Severino pulling out of the game?
Papa Cole understands Sevy as well as Boone.
I get it, if you’re Sevy, but this is absolutely the right move by Boonie

They sure can’t risk it!
sadly agree w Boone here as much as it hurts, can't risk anything right now
— nino (@peterpavia3) October 4, 2022
I understand Sevy, but this is absolutely the right move by Boone. Sevy just came back and the Yankees have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks. Can’t risk a big injury in the last series of the regular season.

Sevy is essential if we want a chance in the playoffs. Had to have been a tough decision but it’s the right one.

As much as I wanted him to get it, I completely agree with Boone taking him out. This is his third start (I think) off the IL and we’re going into the postseason. Would the no hitter be cool, absolutely. But Boone made the right move even if it sucks

With the luck this team’s pitchers have had, absolutely no point in risking even more
— Evan Bell (@The_Bell_Swerve) October 4, 2022
it’s the right move by boone but i feel bad for sevy, i know how much he wanted that

Meanwhile, some fans plainly said they hate Boone for taking Luis Severino out.
All the players hate Boone lol

I want Boone fired at the end of the season

If there’s one thing I despise about modern baseball thinking is this – let him pitch! If he gives up a hit then sure take him out, but he deserved to stay out there
— Santiago Toscana (@santitoscana) October 4, 2022
I hate that he pulled him……
— Foil Pemdas (@FPemdas) October 4, 2022
What an absolute joke of a manager. He destroyed a historic night.
— BT Sports (@btsportsatlanta) October 4, 2022
Just another reason to hate boone
