World Baseball Classic is one of the most important events of baseball. Before MLB’s regular season starts on March 30, baseball fans are having the time of their lives enjoying the ongoing WBC. The tournament that began on March 8 has already advanced to the quarter-finals, with a couple of teams advancing to the semi-finals. Until now, the tournament has been full of entertainment for baseball fans, and till the moment it finalizes on March 21, it will remain an action-packed one. One of the teams that recently advanced to the WBC’s semi-finals is team Cuba.

The Cuban team had gone against the terrific Australian team. In a nail-biting game, Cuba clinched the victory over Australian ballplayers. The game, as intense as it was, left the fans mesmerized, as Cuba ended their 17-year drought of the WBC semifinal.

Since Pool C & D have yet to reach the qualifying stage, and Japan’s quarter-final game is still left, team Cuba is the first to qualify for the semi-finals. It is indeed an achievement, considering that the game was not easy to win.

While congratulations for team Cuba are not stopping any time soon, fans did not forget to appreciate the fight put up by the Aussies. Many of the baseball fans, while complimenting team Cuba for reaching the semi-finals for the first time since, appreciated team Australia in the same comment.

What is the scenario for the rest of the teams in the WBC?

The second quarter-final will take place tomorrow between team Japan and Italy at 6 am ET. On the following day, team Venezuela will be playing in the third quarter-final, whose opponent is not yet finalized. Whereas in pool D, no team has yet reached the quarter-finals, and their game will take place on Saturday, 7 pm ET.
