A player whose career shows all signs of becoming a Hall of Famer does not come very often. Fortunately for baseball fans, they got a chance to witness such a player this year in Major League Baseball. That player is none other than the former Cardinals designated hitter, Albert Pujols.

Pujols, AKA ‘The Machine,’ has played for over two decades in Major League Baseball. The former Cardinals DH is a three times MVP, 11 times All-Star, and has won several other awards throughout his career. The statistics that he has put in over the years have only shown his capability of winning almost everything in the game. Pujols’ outstanding dedication and commitment were finally got noted when he won the Lifetime Achievement Award.

When did Albert Pujols get the Lifetime Achievement Award?

Named after one of the greatest and most consistent hitters in baseball history, the now-retired Albert Pujols got awarded the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday, November 19, 2022.

With tears in his eyes, Pujols accepted the award and penned a note on Instagram. He wrote, “Feeling honored to have received this award, I would like to thank the Musial family and everyone for making this night special.”

He also posted pictures of holding the award with people present there. During the 2022 season, Pujols moved into second place on MLB’s all-time leaderboard for most career RBIs and total bases. And he became the fourth player in MLB history to reach 700 career home runs. He also finished the season as the major league career leader in double plays grounded into (426), third in sacrifice flies (123), fifth in games played (3,080) and doubles (686), and sixth in at-bats (11,421). At first base, he received two Gold Glove medals.

How did fans react to Pujols winning the Lifetime Achievement Award?

Pujols and every Cardinals fan congratulated him for winning the award but did not get shocked. Because in their eyes, no one deserves this award more than ‘The Machine’ Albert Pujols. 

Many of the fans would agree with the user who wrote, “I’ll never get over this retirement.”‘

People congratulated him in many ways, such as, “Very well deserved, you are a role model both in the diamond ♦️ of baseball and in the personal”, “More than well deserved, may God continue to bless you always. Congratulations”, and “You’re one of the best! Congrats my G.”

Whereas one of the users called Pujols an old man in the same statement congratulating him, “Congratulations old man blessings ❤️ 🙏🏽 Felicidades 🤘🏽.”
