Currently, nothing is going right for the Atlanta Braves outfielder, Marcell Ozuna. A day after his arrest on the DUI charge, the Braves outfielder might be unemployed by the end of the current MLB season.
Yes! If reports are true, then the Braves are mulling over releasing Ozuna from the squad. Notably, it is not the first time that Marcell Ozuna has shamed the Braves. Earlier in 2021, the Braves outfielder got arrested for domestic violence. And for this, he also faced a 20-game suspension from the Major League Baseball.

Considering these incidents, Ozuna has become more of a liability for the Braves. Although he does have two more years left in his contract, the Braves are reportedly willing to release Ozuna from the squad.
The Athletic?s Ken Rosenthal expects the Braves to release Marcell Ozuna
Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Braves will not mind releasing Marcell Ozuna, once the legal process is done. Because in some way, his personality and behavior are also affecting the organization?s image.
?The Braves aren’t going to do anything until they get official word on the matter until the legal process is resolved. They won’t comment until they act,? Rosenthal said to Fox Sports. ?But this is Ozuna’s second arrest in less than 15 months. The first was for domestic violence and an incident involving his wife. He ultimately received a 20-game suspension from MLB for that.?
The senior MLB writer also raised a fair point that Ozuna has not been useful for the Braves in the last couple of years. He was not part of the World Series team. And even in this season, Ozuna has not done much for the Braves. However, the Braves still have to find a way to Ozuna?s salaries for the next two years.

?Now, he is owed a total of $41 million, including $37 million in 2023 and 24. Once this all resolves, once the legal issue is clear or not clear. I would expect the Braves to act and to release him. And the reason is he was not contributing to the team, really in any meaningful way. Not really in any way at all,? Rosenthal added.
